This is the ultimate Upper Peninsula getaway.  Paddle for 3 full days 15 miles each day, slightly less on the final day. Providing one zero day, which is a day off.  It is common to have 2 short days rather than one full zero.  The group will decide.

Arriving at the take out, we will switch gears and get our hiking packs on.  Leaving the Kayaks behind we will hike back to Miners Beach, hiking 15 miles each day on the return.

Upon arrival 30 minutes early for each person in the group, you will receive a pack shakedown to ensure that the pack is light enough to meet ultralight standards. Ultralight backpacking skills will be introduced on the journey.

Ultralight is a pack – not counting consumable items such as food and fuel – that is less than 10 lbs.  Walking with such little weight makes hiking accessible for many who can’t carry 50 lbs in the old style of packing.

Consultation will be provided upon booking so you are able to procure the proper equipment for such and undertaking as this. Make no mistake you and your group will have everything you need to enjoy your time on land and at sea.

After meeting your guide at the designated launch point you will be fitted with your tandem kayak, paddle, dry bags, pfd and optional wet suit, soon after you Will be fitted into your kayaks for the trip. Once fitted you’ll receive a concise safety and paddle presentation as well as a pre paddle skills workshop.

At the hiking portion of the tour the guide will go over some of the skills and way points for the next section of the journey.
